I’m liberated, informed, scalded and joyfully frustrated by my artistic journey. My methods ebb between formal, conscious decision making and the freedom afforded by unconscious chaos. This is never more acute than when working with sculpture. It remains a true adventure to push oneself in new directions, like an actor tries out new personalities to help develop their own.

An artwork should stretch the artist and tell a story (whether that story is instantly revealed or unfolds over years). I retain a healthy need to justify and question everything about why I make and bring artwork into existence. If you can’t do that how can you expect to earn the respect and patronage of your audience.
