The value of working as a product designer as well as an artist is to cross into another realm of creativity. and use complimentary, adjacent skills to produce functional items and objects that answer a basic need, offer excitement and provide relevance. A well designed chair is as much an art object as that of a meaningful sculpture. Example: Barcelona chair:  Created by Mies van de Rohe for the Barcelona Expo (Barcelona pavilion) in 1926. It remains as elegant and timeless as when it was first produced.
