Artist’s notes:
This sketch was executed in profile—an important consideration during the development of the associated bronze work was to give a sense of prone energy to the figure, therefore the silhouette of the form was a key aspect of its development. The image shows the inclusion of additional mechanical apparatus at the back of the head, which was omitted in the final work in favour of a cleaner, less robotic aspect to the final piece.
