Love came and the heart made the head its fool is a celebration of the power and passions of love. A depiction of the visceral, the vacillating, the messy, the frantic and the aching energy that love provides. When love strikes the head is often temporarily parked in neutral as the heart tends to fuel the events that drive us to do all manner of  ‘exceptional things’ as the fiery spell of love takes its hold.

Artist’s notes:

Love came and the heart made the head its fool is a celebration of the power and emotional rush of love.

The heart ‘symbol’ of romance is positioned in the work where the anatomical “organ’ is also located (the origins of the symbol are often debated and its positioning in the ‘space’ of the anatomical heart relate to some of the origin stories that mix both myth and scientific, anatomical knowledge. The heart pictogram—a universal symbol of love is arguably the most well recognised icon in the world.
