Believing in the good in others and not yet influenced by prejudice, while the outsider—whose size and form could appear intimidating—is simply reaching out for help.

Artist’s notes
An innocent child greets the gigantic extra-terrestrial without fear, as if she were having a casual word in her grandmother’s ear. Believing in the good in others and not yet influenced by prejudice, while the outsider, whose size and form could appear intimidating—is simply reaching out for help.
If ever you have an encounter where you are provided with a refreshing level of civility or real warmth from a stranger, it can leave you with a renewed bounce in your stride and rekindle your belief in the kindness of humanity. Even if it is no more than a simple “Good morning” in the street.
Originally seen as a public aerosol artwork by J Walker (graffiti work in the barrio Poble Nou, Barcelona under the non de guerre DOMESTICBLISS).
