Artist’s notes:

309B DD4.8
Olympic platform diving is a beautiful blend of grace, precision, and artistry. Divers launch from great heights, transforming powerful movements into elegant twists, flips, and graceful lines before entering the water with remarkable control. Every dive requires intense concentration, strength, balance, and perfect timing, making the sport as much an art form as it is an athletic achievement.

Olympic diving, notation such as 309B DD 4.8 is a compact way of describing a dive:

  • 309 = the dive number, identifying the type and direction of the dive. (REVERSE / 4½ somersaults (the number 9 represents 4½ somersaults)
  • B = the body position, in this case pike.
  • DD 4.8 = the degree of difficulty, meaning the dive is assigned a difficulty value of 4.8.
